Machinery has recently received an order in Australia for Sumitomo's
latest offering for the high-speed food packaging sector.
The SE-HY series from Sumitomo offers thin walled container manufacturers
a completely new concept in moulding machines. Standard features
include extra high rigidity machine frame, High rigidity platens,
center press toggle and platen design, and high-speed injection.
The revolution occurs however in the combination of hydraulics
and electrics. In essence this machine is ALL ELECTRIC, with hydraulics
only used for injection.
The machine is currently available in 350 and 450 tonne clamp,
and will be available in lower tonnages in 2003 onwards.

The continuing transfer of machine technology to ALL ELECTRIC
continues unabated. At the recently held IPF' exhibition in Japan,
there was not one all hydraulic machine on display by the Japanese
machine builders.
Sumitomo have supplied 9 ELECTRIC moulding machines into Australia
since 1999.
Magic Blow Moulding has also released ALL ELECTRIC blow
moulding machines in the 1 litre, 3 and 5 litre, single and double
configurations. Released at the K' fair in 2001, Magic have already
supplied over 40 of these machines in 2002.
The ALL ELECTRIC blow moulding machines offer a significant change
in blow moulding due to the fact that through the use of servo
motors machines have now become much more flexible. As an example
the 3-litre machine has a clamp tonnage setting range of 2 - 8
tonne.
