Tasman Machinery and Sumitomo continue to dominate the all electric injection moulding machine market in Australia and New Zealand with the delivery of the 100th electric machine into the market.
Dermid McKinley of Tasman Machinery states "When we first started promoting our electric machine technology there were many doubters and nay sayers. It is highly satisfying to be delivering our 100th machine into the market. The applications our machines are being used for vary from the manufacturing of flower pots using recycled materials through to the production of disposable contact lenses in clean room environments.
The advantage our customers are gaining from electric machine technology includes substantial energy savings, reduced water consumption, reduced cycle times, improved quality and productivity."
The latest "Z Series" from Sumitomo offers users some highly innovative technology which further reduces energy consumption and allows users to reduce required clamp forces significantly. McKinley refers to a customer who recently contacted Tasman telling them they reduced their clamp forces on a product from 160 tonne to 80 tonne!!
